I had some creativity bulb go off today and I decided to put some stuff together. I wrote out the script for the second episode including the music and all that good stuff. The tentative title is... well, I am still working on that. But, I did put together this silly promo pic with myself in it. All in good fun!

"Sheme the fcuk?" Pilot Episode
So, the first episode is finally here! I had to edit and upload it a ridiculous amount of times until I finally was satisfied with the way it came out. iMovie disappointed me a number of times, as it had failed to save certain parts of the movie and the BIGGEST let down was with iMovie 9 when the audio and video settings went completely out of whack during the upload. Luckily, this problem was fixed in iMovie 11, which came out right around the time when I was attempting to upload the video to YouTube. I am sure there are more problems to be discovered in iMovie 11, however. iPhoto 11 is already malfunctioning when transferring photos from the iPhone. Macs sure do have their share of issues, even if they are not susceptible to most computer viruses.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pilot episode, and my first attempt at a v-blog. I am already working on the second one and hopefully it will be done in shorter amount of time. Although, I do need more ram and hard drive space in order to put it all together.
P.S. For an explanation for the bizarre title of the episode, refer to the YouTube summary. I promise it will make sense.
Situation 101 Series Trailer Version II
Here's the second, edited version of the trailer that I posted on Facebook. I edited it for some content. If you notice, it's really small and sort of insignificant. Anyways, enjoy!

The new V-Blog
However, I think I might have found a solution. I have always had an appreciation for visual arts, especial video and image editing. Finally, this past year, I have materialized my hobby into something tangible. Actually, years back, I bought a now archaic Sony Mini-DV camera and
since then have been gathering together footage of my daily life. Throughout the years I have acquired quite a collection of mini-DV tapes.More recently, after getting my hands on a new iPhone 4, which records digital video in high definition (720 hdp), I have started to document the best moments of my life in Taiwan, albeit not really teaching English anymore. So the blog quote might be slightly misleading and outdated now. But, more importantly, instead of writing things down, I take things down in the moment - by recording it!
And with this cool new iPhone 4 feature, I think my mini-DV tapes will have to take a back seat for a while. Until I can allocate some serious time to re-watching and editing them. For now, I will focus on my current footage that I have acquired. I have decided to edit the video in style of a reality series, or better yet - webizodes. Webizodes, a portmanteau, meaning an episode on the web, would be a perfect way to share my footage with you all. At least those of you who are interested in watching. We'll see what happens and where this process will take me. I will be uploading the videos to my YouTube account and posting updates of them on here.
The name I came up with for my web series is Situation 101. "101" being associated with the Taipei 101 skyscraper (featured in the blog picture at the very top of the page), the former tallest building in the world. The symbolism is pretty clear and need not be explained. The "situation" part of the title, I lament to admit, was borrowed from the Jersey Shore show, and symbolizes the different situations that take place with me and my friends here in Taiwan. The pilot episode is due to be finished in the next coming week (I have yet to come up with a title for it) and should be uploaded by the end of the month. In the mean time, I think I will put together a short series trailer to give people an idea of what my new Video Blog will consist of.
Stay tuned!
P.S. I've included some "promotional" images above! I mean, if you're gonna do something, you gotta do it right, right?

Long overdue... 你好, folks! 好久不見!
Hello my good people! It has literally been ages since I have posted my last blog. And, indeed, a lot has happened since then. I have since grown weirdly accustomed to the wet climate here in Taiwan. In other words, slightly drier days are now quite conformable for me. I have finally Skyped with my adventuring other half, aka Amanda Jessen. I have read both the Lost Symbol and witness The State of Fear. Also, I have personally witnessed a Mason ritual in a quiet Italian restaurant here in Taipei. I have also changed my views about Global Warming and further question what I hear in the media. Last but certainly not least, is my newly found appreciation for Farmville. Yes, that's right, you've read right! I vowed to new succumb to the online gaming world, but I have proven weak in its powerful grip of influence. And let me tell you, being a virtual farmer is no easy task - it takes a lot of dedication!
But, more importantly, I have found a new Chinese pop song that I enjoy very much. The funny this is, unlike any other music, it takes me about five to six months to come across a track that seems pleasant to my ears. Check it out below, its by Show Lo, and its called Love's Final Show. Or in Chinese, 愛的主場秀.
I will write more updates later. I promise... stay tuned... for another few months or so!
